Property Description

The subjects of sale form a most attractive, lower ground floor apartment, situated in the historic, former Fort Augustus Abbey, nestled on the banks of Loch Ness. In excellent order throughout and beautifully presented, the accommodation is arranged over two levels, complementing the late 19th Century architecture of the building, and is flooded with natural light from the mainly original windows. Benefiting from electric wet central heating, modern bathroom suites, oak flooring to the hallway and living area, granite work surfaces and integral appliances, this rarely available three bedroom property with en-suite facilities, has the added advantage of direct access to the rear courtyard area. As part of the Owner’s Association, the successful purchaser will have access to all the leisure facilities including the Club Lounge with full sized snooker table, heated swimming pool and sauna, croquet lawn, tennis courts and gym to name but a few. Due to the size and location, the property would be ideally suited as a superb permanent home, as a holiday home or as an excellent investment opportunity in a very buoyant self-catering market. The popular Boathouse Lochside Restaurant is also a one minute walk from the property. Please note that the property is sold as seen and includes all furniture and kitchen ware – bedding is excluded.

Fort Augustus sits at the end of Loch Ness in the picturesque Great Glen. Forming part of the chain to the Caledonian Canal, linking Fort William on the west coast to Inverness on the east, the locks in the centre of the village provide a popular tourist attraction. With its hotels, restaurants, shops and both primary and secondary schools, Fort Augustus is well placed to take advantage of the many leisure and pleasure activities which the area has to offer.
