Property Description

Situated on a prime, elevated site, with stunning views over Glenborrodale Bay towards Loch Sunart and surrounding countryside, Honeysuckle Cottage forms a charming detached dwellinghouse with separate chalet. In very good order throughout, the main property benefits from a dual heating system, is mainly double glazed and features many of the original characteristics including wooden doors, cast iron fireplaces and a curved pitch pine staircase with stain glass window. The chalet features double glazing and electric heating and is set in it’s own garden grounds.

The accommodation, which is in very good order comprises in Honeysuckle Cottage – entrance hallway, lounge, dining room, rear vestibule, cloakroom and modern kitchen/diner all on the grounds floor. Three double bedrooms and family bathroom all feature on the upper floor, accessed by the bright and airy central landing. The chalet comprises a sunroom, hallway, spacious open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen, double bedroom and modern bathroom all on one level.

Property & Area Description

Located in Glenborrodale on the picturesque Ardnamurchan peninsula, an area offering some of the most outstanding coast-line scenery and rugged Highland landscapes, the property enjoys a slightly elevated position in private garden grounds with uninterrupted views to Loch Sunart. In addition to the main dwelling Honeysuckle Cottage, a separate detached chalet is also included in the sale.

Providing deceptively spacious and flexible accommodation over two floors, Honeysuckle Cottage would be ideally suited to a number of uses including a family home, idyllic holiday retreat or self-catering in a buoyant holiday-let market. Boasting many original features including rare American red clay roof tiles and wooden flooring, the modern shaker-style kitchen/diner with integrated appliances is a most attractive feature. The addition of the chalet could provide an exciting opportunity for immediate income and is decorated in modern neutral tones.

The property is approached by a shared tarmac driveway, leading to a parking area to the side.  Honeysuckle Cottage boasts generous grounds, laid in the main to natural lawn and offset with mature trees, shrubs, bushes and hedging. A gentle sloping lawn leads down to the original garden walls surrounding the front of the property.

The Peninsula, one of the most beautiful and spectacular areas of the Western Highlands is famous for a variety of outdoor activities including sailing, angling, kayaking and walking to name but a few, together with an abundance of wildlife. Otters, seals, porpoises, deer, golden and white-tailed eagles and a wide range of other birdlife are frequently seen from the property with whale watching nearby. Local amenities are available in the nearby villages of Salen and Acharacle – with primary school, doctor, restaurants, shops, garage, jetty and hotels whilst the property is on the Kilchoan – Fort William bus route.
