Mairi Hendrie and Katy Mackin assist the Solicitors of the firm, both in our Fort William and Oban offices, with Wills, Estate Planning, Executries, Power of Attorney and various other family matters.
Wills & Executries
Making a will is very important. Many people think they are too young or not wealthy enough to make a Will. People also often assume that their assets will automatically pass on to whom they would wish – but that is not always the case (particularly in modern families). Don’t put it off any longer. Everyone should make a Will and it should be reviewed regularly to take account of any changes in your family/personal circumstances as well as any changes regarding inheritance tax.
Always a sympathetic approach when dealing efficiently with Executries, our staff are always available to support our clients at this difficult time. They work primarily with our Partners, Duncan MacPhee and Rosemary MacPhee.
Our expertise includes:
- Making and changing a Will
- Estate Planning
- Executry Management
- Testate/Intestate Succession
- Legal/Prior Rights
Power of Attorney
Putting in place a Power of Attorney offers the peace of mind knowing that your affairs will be dealt with, by persons of your choosing, in the event that you are no longer able to manage them yourself. It will also greatly help your loved ones should such a situation arise.
There are different types of Power of Attorney and they can be as limited or wide-ranging as you require, allowing them to be specifically tailored to suit your individual needs. Powers of attorney are dealt with by Mairi Hendrie and Katy Mackin in our Wills & Executries Team in Fort William and Kath McMahon in Oban.
